Fishing

Convenient access to salt and fresh water make Ponte Vedra Beach and the surrounding areas a prime destination for all types of anglers.

Saltwater Fishing-

Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Cobia and Wahoo are just a few of the sport fish many anglers come to our area to catch. The annual AT&T Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament held in July, is the largest in the country and brings anglers from all over the United States. The new Jacksonville Beach Pier, rebuilt in 2006 is an excellent place to give saltwater fishing a try. Stretching 1/4 mile into the Atlantic Ocean the pier offers great access to salt water fishing.  Additional  tournaments held here that anglers come to participate in include the Flounder Pounder & El Cheapo.

Freshwater Fishing-

Guana River State Park, Doctor’s Inlet, and the St. John’s River offer some of the best freshwater fishing in the state of Florida. Black Bass, Striper, Crappie, Bream and catfish are some of the fish found in these rivers and streams.
